Acxiom Corp. (ACXM) recently opened its China Global Service Center (GSC) in Nantong. Acxiom integrates data, services and technology to create and deliver customer and information management solutions for companies.

The center will provide extensive services including software development, systems management, data analysis and statistical analysis to clients in China and around the world. The China facility is Acxiom’s second GSC, after Poland.

Since the international service outsourcing market is moving towards China, the development of the Chinese outsourcing industry has been vigorously supported by the government.

Acxiom offers both offline and online marketing solutions and the GSC is part of Acxiom’s infrastructure investment to strengthen marketing delivery capability in China and the region.

In view of the economic scenario, management’s current strategy of growth includes building a strong base outside the U.S., designing programs and approaches, which cater to various needs of clients, and extending expertise in financial services to other sectors and markets. Management also intends to leverage its client relationships for increased cross selling opportunities, developing more standardized market driven and solution driven products and services, improving operational effectiveness and work culture.

China being one of the most populous nations in the world with a growing sophisticated consumer base, Acxiom should see a significant opportunity for growth in this region. Additionally, market segmentation in China continues to grow rapidly, which is driving more targeted marketing campaigns requiring marketers to deploy more sophisticated approaches.
