Growth Stock

Shares issued by rapid growth, young, high risk companies competing in emerging industries/technology.

Growth and Income Funds

A mutual fund with a purpose of providing both income and growth by investing in companies that have demonstrated earnings growth and consistent dividend payouts.

Gross National Product

The total value of goods and services produced by a nation within one year, comprised of the Gross Domestic Product plus net income from foreign investments.

Gross Domestic Product

The value of a country's finished goods and services produced within its borders, within a specific period of time.

Greeks

A naming convention for the risk variable measurements of open Option positions. See: Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Rho and Theta.

Gravestone Doji

A Candlestick chart pattern represented by a bar that contains identical open and close prices occuring at the low of the day.

Good Til Cancelled

A trade order which instructs to buy or sell at a specific price that remains active until the investor informs of cancellation or the trade is executed.

Gearing

A financial ratio that compares an investor's equity (capital) to active debt to determine level of risk. 

Gamma

Rate at which an option gains or loses deltas over a $1 change in the price of the underlying security.
