Founder Howard Lindzon’s By Kira Brecht "You are either moving markets or you are in the markets and you have to position yourself." 10 TraderPlanet Digital Journal
oward Lindzon learned how not to lose money at a young age. As a young adult, Lindzon's parents divorced. His mother had the choice of giving her money to a broker to manage or to Howard. "She trusted me. I learned how to not lose money," Lindzon explained. He was thrust into that all-important role with virtually no background in the financial markets at the young age of 22. His only prior market experience was late in high school he bought a stock: Clearly Canadian, a Vancouver beverage company at $22. It fell to a buck. Like many other first-time investors Lindzon realized he didn't know what he was doing. But, with his mother's portfolio there was greater added responsibility. "For me, that experience helped me understand how the wrong person managing your money can destroy someone's life. I had to learn to be on the defensive, not the offensive. With other people's money I'm overly conservative," he said. TraderPlanet Digital Journal 10
