Mission Statement
TRADING WALL STREET Investments is solely run by Brandon Rowley, an Equity Trader at a Wall Street hedge fund. All the thoughts and ideas presented on this site are his alone unless otherwise cited. His goal is to provide original perspectives on all things finance. My mission with this site is to inform, educate and entertain my reading audience. I started this blog in June 2008 amid a collapsing equity market less than a year after I started actively trading equities. I have been involved in the market for nearly a decade owning stocks and mutual funds from a very young age and working 3 years at a long-term investment firm in college. Yet, shortly after beginning my job as an Equity Trader, I realized the unprecedented history I was witnessing. I began blogging to record my thoughts on a daily basis so that I had something concrete to look back on in the coming years. This blog is nothing more than a collection of my thoughts and writings combined with anything that I find particularly interesting. You will likely find a fairly consistent theme here in support of moderately-regulated free market capitalism. I believe in the power of markets for price discovery but also recognize the need for regulation in the relatively limited number of areas free markets fail to provide the best mechanism for price discovery. You will also find a continually developing trader who is honing a cohesive investment discipline and philosophy that combines a background in fundamental factors with basic technical analysis. I have a deep belief in the power of "feel" and greatly rely on this unteachable skill only learned over years of experience. I respect market sentiment and see its power over the short-term even while understanding that stocks will always be driven by earnings power in the long-term.
