Fixed Annuity

A contract that obligates an insurance company to make a series of payments to the customer for the duration of the contract. It’s a popular strategy for retirees to achieve a steady income.

Flat

A neutral position for a security that is neither short or long.

Floor Broker

As an independent member of an Exchange, these individuals operate on the floor of an exchange to manage transactions for other exchange members that become overloaded with orders.

FOMC

Federal Open Market Committee of the U.S. Federal Reserve that establishes monetary policy.

Force Index

An oscillator designed by Dr. Alexander Elder that measures the power behind price movements to identify potential changes in trend.

Foreign Exchange

The simultaneous transaction of buying one currency and selling another, occurring on the global marketplace referred to as "Forex" or "FX".

Forward Points

These are exchange rate points that reflect the difference between interest rates of two currencies. Forward Points are the basis points that are added or subtracted from the spot rate for a forward exchange transaction.

A method of anlayzing periodic waves through leveraging Trigonometric functions.

Fractional Shares

A share of equity that is only a portion of a full share, resulting from stock splits, corporate mergers or stock buyouts.
