Natural gas prices fell on Monday amid speculations natural gas stockpiles could reach a record before the beginning of the winter season, where natural gas stockpiles rose last week to 3.716 trillion cubic feet, just 124 billion cubic feet below the record level of stockpiles reached last year in November, which put natural gas prices under pressure despite colder-than expected weather conditions in the United States.

Natural gas prices could rise over the course of this week, as weather forecasts suggest that temperatures will drop in parts of the United States, which could boost demand for natural gas as a heating fuel, and that should push natural gas prices to rise further. Nonetheless, weather forecasts also suggest temperatures will rise next week, and that could weigh down on natural gas prices towards the end of the week.
