Hurricane Sandy is the news item of the day, the week, and perhaps the year, depending on what it does to the US election. Regardless of that latter possibility, let’s not take our eye off the ball. This storm is of a magnitude and composition not seen before and we should keep in mind the folks in its path are in serious jeopardy. Today, we should focus on the well-being of our fellow citizens.
Often, the breathless media hypes these weather events beyond reality, and it might be so in this case, but I have a feeling about this story, and it is not a good one. All of us who are not in harm’s way should take a moment, get quiet, gather our good thoughts, and then send the best energy we have toward the folks who are in the path of this looming disaster. I think they are going to need it.
