Crude inventories increased by 2.9 million barrels, for the week ending March 26, from the previous week to 354.2 million barrels and were above the upper limit of the average range for that time of year. U.S. crude oil refinery inputs averaged 14.2 million barrels per day during this period, 192 thousand barrels per day above the previous week’s average. U.S. crude oil imports were averaging 9.1 million barrels per day, down 337 thousand barrels per day from the previous week.
Factory Orders increased by 0.6%, $2.1 billion, to $383.5 billion in February, better than the expected 0.4% increase, following a 2.5% increase in January, revised upwards from a reported 1.7% increase. Factory Orders are up 10 of the past 11 months. Excluding transportation, Factory Orders increased by 0.7%.
