JDS Uniphase Corporation (JDSU) launched a new product called SAMComplete (Service Activation Methodology) for testing Ethernet service activation. It will belong to the company’s leading J-Complete tools.

The new product is a significant addition to the company’s comprehensive product portfolio of testing tools.

JDS Uniphase Corporation is the leading provider of communications test and measurement solutions, as well as optical products, to telecom carriers, cable operators, and network equipment manufacturers.

The release of the SAMComplete testing instrument will allow multiple activations of Ethernet-based services, thus offering faster and high-quality mobile video services along with other advanced services. The newly-launched tool is quite easy to operate as compared to its other testing tools.

J-Complete’s product portfolio comprises many such testing tools that are available with the T-BERD®/MTS 6000A Multi Services Application Module (MSAM), T-BERD/MTS-8000 Transport Module, T-BERD/MTS-8000 Dual Module Carrier (DMC), and HST-3000 Etherent SIM. The easy-to-operate SAMComplete testing tool will be the new addition to the J-Complete portfolio.

Despite highly cyclical nature of the Optical component industry and strong competition from companies like Avago Technologies Limited (AVGO) and Finisar Corporation (FNSR), we remain highly optimistic regarding the success of the company’s product portfolio targeting next-generation technologies of IPTV, wireless backhaul, 4G LTE networks, and 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps optical network systems. The company declared an excellent second quarter 2011 financial results. Management is doing well regarding cost control and cash preservation.

We, thus, maintain our long-term Neutral recommendation for JDS Uniphase Corporation. Currently, JDS Uniphase Corporation has a Zacks #2 Rank, implying a short-term Buy rating on the stock.
