With record low interest rates, anemic yields in Goverment bonds coupled with Treasuries hitting a 2011 record low yield today of  2.72%, there are very few if any investment vehicles out there with a high yield.

The following is a list of 3 mutual funds that are currently yielding over 11% more than  4 times the current yield of the benchmark 10 Year treasury bond.

All of these funds are highly liquid with a high Zacks Mutual Fund Rank and at least $40 million or more in assets under management in the fund.

Aegis High Yield Fund (AHYFX) – invests in a diversified portfolio of high yielding “junk bonds”. The fund has $41 million in assets under management and has an expense ratio of 1.20%

The fund manager is Scott L. Barbee, he has been managing this fund since 2008.

Gabelli Utilities AAA Fund (GABUX) this fund mainly invests in high yielding dividend paying Utiility stocks.

This fund has $2.2 billion in assets under management and has a 1.43% expense ratio.

DFA International Real Estate Securities (DFITX) – is a highly diversified mutual fund that invests in mostly real estate securities in international markets, both developed and emerging.

This mutual fund has a very low expense ratio of 0.41% well below the category average of 1.5%
