The Consumer Confidence Index increased to 54.1 (1985=100) in November after increasing to 49.9 in October from 48.6 in September. The index was expected to increase with the consensus at 54.2. The Present Situation Index increased to 24.0 from 23.5 last month. The Expectations Index increased to 74.2 from 67.5 in September. Consumer opinion about current market conditions was virtually unchanged from last month but the short term outlook improved.
