• Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) posted better-than-expected third-quarter earnings of $0.68, up from estimates of $0.59, and revenues of $2.95 billion, that beat estimates of $2.85 billion

• NRG Energy (NYSE:NRG) posted a third quarter earnings and revenue miss, with results of $0.87 below estimates for $$0.89, and revenues of $2.7 billion, off 7.9% YoY shy of estimates for $3 billion

• Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) posted estimate-topping third quarter earnings of $1.00, versus estimates for $0.89, on a 5.2% revenue gain to $4.7 billion, inline with estimates. The firm also announced plans for a $4 billion common share buyback

• Canada blocked BHP’s (NYSE:BHP) bid for Potash (NYSE:POT) yesterday

• Becton Dickenson (NYSE:BDX) reported fiscal fourth quarter earnings and revenues that matched Street projections. Earnings posted at $1.24 and revenues at $1.87 billion.

• WellCare (NYSE:WCG) reported better-than-expected third quarter earnings of $0.89, ahead of estimates for of $0.65, on revenues of $1.39 billion, up from consensus projections for of $1.35 billion

• DIRECTV Group (NYSE:DTV) posted inline third quarter earnings of $0.55 on inline revenues of $6 billion, up 10.2% YoY

• Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI) reported third quarter earnings one cent higher than expected, with earnings of $0.01, on inline revenues of $717.5

• Foster Wheeler (NASDAQ:FWLT) reported earnings and sales that missed consensus projections, with earnings of $0.40, short of estimates for $0.51, and revenues $904.7 million, off estimates for $1.09 billion

• Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) removed EOG Resources (NYSE:EOG) from its Conviction Buy List, but retained its “buy” on the shares as it lowered the target price to $110 from $129
