Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTSH) recently signed a new agreement with Invensys Operations Management, a division of Invensys that provides automation and information technology, systems, software solutions, services and consulting to the global manufacturing and infrastructure industries.
The new go-to-market agreement is expected to accelerate the delivery of Invensys Operations Management’s InFusion Enterprise Control System-based solutions for customers in the manufacturing and process industries. Invensys will focus on creating and delivering innovative, real-time solutions which will be complemented by Cognizant’s consulting and system integration capabilities in enterprise IT solutions, especially for large-scale, enterprise-wide projects.
Cognizant and Invensys will together provide fully integrated solutions, which will seamlessly connect the production environment with the decision-making, analytics and collaboration environment thereby, improving productivity.
The global economy is showing signs of recovery, and the business environment has become more stable compared with year-end 2009. As the economy begins to recover, many firms will start investing more in development projects rather than just maintenance projects. Cognizant expects to win significant business as IT spending picks pace.
Earlier, Cognizant entered into a multiyear, multimillion-dollar agreement with 3M Company (MMM), a global leader in research and development, which produces innovative products for a variety of markets. The agreement extends Cognizant’s strategic relationship with 3M and includes a wide range of application development and related services to drive improved performance.
3M should also benefit from Cognizant 2.0 — a global knowledge-sharing, collaboration, program management and social computing platform that addresses three key challenges in the IT industry of getting the best talent, the best practices and the best knowledge. This new platform aims to increase work quality, productivity and efficiency.
