Week of Sept. 13 – What Would Charles Martel (the Hammer) Do? I have been posting daily on the daily comments, the simple slogan, “Remember Charles Martel”, so I hope by now you have had sufficient curiosity to learn something about this European champion. Charles led an army of Franks in 732 who saved Europe from the Mohammedans, who were on their way north from Iberia (Spain) to conquer the Christian lands in what is now known as France. Nowadays, there is some concern about burning the Koran, the holy book of the Muslims; in those days (eighth century), the Christians were worried about the enemy burning a church or two, for the next stop on their trail of pillaging and sacking was the basilica of St. Martin of Tours. So maybe this burning thing is a tit-for-tat, boiling to the surface after 1300 years of simmering. After all, they burned our TradeCenter. Then they have the nerve to want to call it “Cordoba”, a veiled reference to conquering. Well, maybe we’re not conquered yet. Is Terry Jones Charles Martel come back to life? The Mohammedans have a long history of converting by the sword. But we all know that the pen is mightier than the sword. And apparently, it doesn’t take much to get their goat. So let’s continue to aggravate them, so the whole world can see the true face of the enemy and how truly intolerant they are. And as we said in an earlier discourse, keep praying for them, and “kill ‘em with kindness”.
Strategy – We are maintaining sell stops in the major indices and buy stops in all the inverse ETFs, fully expecting that the market will head South when you least expect it (soon) and rather quickly, and if your stops are not in place, you will miss the move.
