A buy signal for Campbell would be stronger if the stock can take out its 1-3/4 year high of 37.21 posted two months ago in June. In recent news on the stock, the company said on July 21 that it is not interested in buying Sara Lee’s bread business. On July 13, Gabelli reiterated its Buy rating on the stock and said that the company’s initiatives are driving revenue growth and that profitability should improve going forward. Campbell Soup Company, with a market cap of $12.2 billion, is a global manufacturer and marketer of convenience food products and operates in three business segments: Soup and Sauces, Biscuits and Confectionery, and Away From Home.
