As many readers now, in 2009 Weather Trends went against the grain and called for a deficit in last year’s Monsoon rains, even when the default source for Monsoon forecasts, the Indian Met Dept, was forecasting a normal season. When we backtested our monsoon forecast, we saw that our outlook also verified for the previous six years. So as we approached the 2010 season, many with exposure to the Indian agricultural market were eager to hear of our outlook.
