Compuware Corporation (CPWR) announced that it has signed a one-year agreement for lead development services with Rainmaker Systems, Inc. (RMKR).

Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, Compuware provides software products and professional services to many large users of information systems in the world.

Under the agreement, Rainmaker will provide appointment setting and decision-making identification to support Compuware in driving increased sales pipeline opportunities and revenue.

Rainmaker is a leading provider of sales and marketing solutions offering Software as a Service (SaaS) application software and execution services to large enterprises in a range of industries, including computer hardware and software, telecommunications and financial services industries.

Earlier, Poland’s popular multimedia web portal — Onet.pl — selected Compuware’s end-to-end application performance management solution, which monitors end-user experience of its critical business applications that span both the enterprise and Internet.

Onet.pl stated that end-to-end application monitoring is essential for its IT administrators to track and resolve problems in its server/network infrastructure. Every month, Onet.pl Group averages more than 12.5 million real users to its web portal, generating more than 3.8 billion page views.

The solutions provided by Compuware — Vantage and Gomez — provide complete visibility and deep-dive resolution across the entire application delivery chain. This should give Onet.pl a unified view of the health of business applications so that it can proactively resolve performance issues before they impact the business.

Meanwhile, Gomez, the web performance division of Compuware, introduced a solution for testing how all websites perform and render on the Apple (AAPL) iPad. iPad use is expected to grow rapidly so many businesses are developing mobile web sites and applications to ensure that their brands and services are available to increasing numbers of device owners.

Organizations need to know if their websites perform and render properly on the iPad in order to meet users’ increasing expectations for speed and performance. Failure to meet these performance expectations can result in lost customers and damaged brand equity.

The service is part of Gomez’s “One Web” performance testing and monitoring capabilities, which are designed to help developers and IT operations teams find, diagnose and fix application performance issues whether they are mobile-specific, web-specific or both.
