So, here is my reality. It is Wednesday, and I am getting married on Saturday. Yup, this is my reality.

Actually, it is pretty cool because the woman who has agreed to take on this intense soul is quite funny, lovely, smart, and caring, all qualities that I find endearing and helpful to a relationship.

Given the above, you might hear little from me over the next few days, but that just might be good, as I have little to say as long as those idiots in Washington keep on being idiotic. I guess we are what we are …

  • Although the action on Capitol Hill appears has certainly been frenzied, the stock market continues to yawn. Yes, it is true that the intraday volatility did pick up in earnest on Tuesday as the algos pushed and pulled the major indices in a rather violent fashion after each and every headline, comment, and/or rumor out of Washington. But with the S&P 500 still just a stone’s throw from its recent all-time high, traders don’t appear to be worried.

Nope. The market believes a last-minute solution to the manufactured crisis is on the way, ala 2010 and 2011. That is my belief as well, but one never knows when the crazies have control of the crazy house.

What I do know, however, is that one giant piece of the world economic puzzle is starting to find its way back after being scattered all over the table.

·       European new-car sales increased at the fastest rate in over two years in September, climbing 5.5% on year to 1.19M vehicles after dropping 4.9% in August. In January-September, sales fell 3.9% to 9.34M cars.

As I have been writing, do not underestimate the power of a European reemergence onto the global economic scene. Do not forget that the Eurozone is, in aggregate, the largest economy on the planet.

As well, do not forget that now is the time to set up and activate your trades and investments. So, given that I believe the market is heading up, just as my life is heading up after Saturday, I give you the following advice – Do not be afraid; be careful. It works for the market, as well as for anyone getting married. After all, both involve relationships that require care and, in both, fear has no place (Yup, no fear, no fear, no fear, no fear, no fear).

Trade in the day; Invest in your life …
