DENVER (AP) — Some of the biggest names in the outdoor retail industry are vowing to keep up their battle with the Trump administration over public lands.
They have gathered in Denver for the annual Outdoor Retailer and Snow Show that opened Wednesday. About 950 exhibitors and 25,000 people are attending over three days.
The industry jumped into a political fight with the Trump administration two years ago over national monuments. Major companies say they’re still battling, and they’re adding climate change and sustainable manufacturing to their agenda.
The public lands campaign made headlines and energized the industry, but it’s hard to measure the impact on voters and policymakers.
Neither the Outdoor Industry Association nor the big companies have done the kind of polls and surveys that would show the reach.
