The VIX, commonly known as the market’s “fear gauge”, is near 5-year lows:
And as fears have steadily receded over the last 6 months, stocks have steadily risen:
But have investors become too complacent? Or are fears of a hard landing in China and continued sovereign debt problems in Europe still overblown?
And is a war with Iran and $5 gas a serious threat for stocks? What other “wildcards” out there could blind side the market?
