The sands of sector performance might be shifting. You’ll notice that are list of buys and sells are considerably shorter than normal. Many of the sectors/industries that were charging up the hill are experiencing some resistance. Top Equity News sees a ton of backwards question marks (?) on their charts – rounding off at the top and turning over.

The opposite is true for the underperforming sectors/industries. Plenty have hit backstops and backwards Js are showing up on the charts – rounding off at the bottom and turning higher.

The rest of the undeclared charts are flattening out and acting indecisively. Clearly, it looks as if money is starting to swap out of leaders and into laggards.

Market transitions, if that’s what is happening, can be choppy as intuitions must sell positions first and then use the proceeds to buy. When the changeover is complete, a foundation will be in place for Wall Street to move stocks higher. In the meantime, the market might hit the spin cycle, twisting and turning in every direction only to come to rest near its starting position.

If we are correct in our interpretation, TEN would suggest focusing on the emerging lists.
