Home prices in China fell for the fourth month in a row according to a survey published today. Home prices fell 0.25% in the month of December compared to November. December saw an average price of 8,809 yuan per square meter compared to 8,832 yuan in November. Prices dropped in 60 cities out of the 100 cities tracked in the survey. Later this month, we will also see release of the National Bureau of Statistics price index which will be the official report on home prices. Homeowners in China have protested outside offices of developers in recent times as home prices plummeted and many were left underwater in their home loans. China has seen demand for housing cool down as the country braces for a global economic slowdown from the European debt crisis. Read more
