Wall Street trading was mixed and subdued as the holiday week drained away any heavy activity. Better than expected economic data failed to provide any lift for stocks. Crude oil prices maintained their upward trajectory, however, and investors buoyed energy equities. Despite a pickup in home sales, it was reported that prices in major metropolitan areas continue to fall.
