Forexpros – U.S. stocks were mixed after the closing bell on Friday.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.54%, the S&P 500 index shed 0.06%, while the Nasdaq 100 index declined 0.58%.
Earlier in the day, official data showed that U.S. non-farm payrolls rose more-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted 117K last month, from 46K in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from 18K.
Analysts had expected U.S. non-farm payrolls to rise 95K last month.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets closed lower. France’s CAC 40 was down 1.26%; Germany’s DAX shed 2.78%; Britain’s FTSE 100 declined 2.71%; and the EURO STOXX 50 fell 1.54%.
