Forexpros – U.S. stocks were up after the closing bell on Friday.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.34%, the S&P 500 index gained 0.56%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 1.36%.
Earlier in the day, official data showed that consumer price inflation in the U.S. fell more-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted -0.2% last month, from 0.2% in the preceding month.
Analysts had expected CPI to fall -0.1% last month.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets were mixed at close. France’s CAC 40 was down 0.66%; Germany’s DAX gained 0.07%; Britain’s FTSE 100 declined 0.06%; and the EURO STOXX 50 fell 0.74%.
