Forex Pros – U.S. stocks were down after the closing bell on Friday.

At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.96%, the S&P 500 index shed 1.17%, while the Nasdaq 100 index declined 1.68%.

Earlier in the day, official data showed that U.S. core durable goods orders rose less-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted 0.6% last month from -0.4% in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from -1.5%.

Analysts had expected Core durable goods orders to rise 1.0% last month.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets were mixed at close. France’s CAC 40 was down 0.08%; Germany’s DAX shed 0.39%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.41%; and the EURO STOXX 50 fell 0.55%.
