General Dynamics Corporation (GD) declared that its unit General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has received a contract worth $4.7 million to provide airborne advanced geospatial intelligence (‘AGI’) battlespace awareness support to the U.S. Air Force’s National Air and Space Intelligence Center (‘NASIC’).

Per the contract General Dynamic’s unit will provide support to the U.S. Air Force for hyper-spectral and multi-spectral imagery production, data processing and analysis of the same, provide training to officials and help in the publishing and distribution of documents.

NASIC acts as an agent for processing, exploitation, analysis, integration and dissemination of measurement and signature intelligence data collected from radar, electro-optical and infrared technical sensors. These data are later analyzed to detect threats and develop techniques used to support missions of the Department of Defense. General Dynamics has been associated with NASIC for a decade.

Advanced Information Systems has been working with different U.S. defense establishments, providing end-to-end mission solutions in systems integration, development, deployment and operations support.

The efficiency of this General Dynamics unit ensures a steady stream of contracts on a consistent basis. The unit received a $7.8 million contract to develop an Open System Architecture common back-end digital processor for the entire family of Air Force radio frequency electronic devices this month. Other recent contracts include a $17.9 million assignment from the U.S. Navy, in April this year, to produce Type-3 advanced mission computers for the F/A-18E/F and E/A-18G Super Hornet aircraft.

General Dynamics currently retains a Zacks #3 Rank (short-term Hold rating).  The company competes with The Boeing Company (BA), Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT) and Textron Inc. (TXT), all of which presently retain a Zacks #3 Rank (short-term Hold).

Falls Church, Virginia-based General Dynamics, with its units, operates in business aviation, land and expeditionary combat systems, armaments and munitions, shipbuilding and marine systems, and information systems and technologies.
