Defense contractor Northrop Grumman Corporation (NOC) said that its Technical Services division has received an Army contract worth up to $2.5 billion.

The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract offered through the Army Contracting Command, entails providing operations, planning, training and resource support services (OPTARSS II) to the U.S. Army.

The U.S. has its warfighters deployed around the world, fighting against highly adaptive enemies. The OPTARSS II program is critical for the Army as it provides rapid delivery of innovative training solutions that help overcome emerging and unconventional threats and ensure overall success in a mission.

Northrop Grumman has been providing similar services to the Army since 2003. Northrop Grumman Technical Service’s Training Solutions Division has been leading in the type of work that is required by OPTARSS II for a long time now. It has assembled a highly capable team that possesses the technical expertise and experience to rapidly meet requirements under the OPTARSS II program.

Going forward, Northrop Grumman looks to increase its opportunities for the OPTARSS II team to carry out similar programs for the U.S. Army.

Los Angeles-based Northrop Grumman Corporation is one of the world’s leading shipbuilders and the third largest defense contractor in the U.S., after The Boeing Company (BA) and Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT). The company supplies a broad array of products and services to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), including electronic systems, information technology, submarines and surface ships, aircraft, space technology and systems integration services.

Northrop Grumman presently has a Zacks #3 Rank (short term Hold rating), which supports our long-term ‘Neutral’ recommendation on the stock.
