Ampco System Parking, a wholly owned subsidiary of ABM Industries Inc. (ABM), bagged a multi-year contract to manage parking operations at North Carolina’s Raleigh-Durham International Airport (“RDU”).

RDU serves North Carolina and certain communities in central and eastern North Carolina and the southern Virginia region.

As per the three-year staffing agreement between Ampco and RDU, the former will maneuver approximately 18,000 parking spaces and 9 shuttle busses, which are used to carry passengers to and from remote parking facilities. Ampco will employ 50 people to provide the parking services to RDU.

In the second quarter, ABM Industries witnessed flat revenues for the Parking division, whereas the operating profit for the division increased 6.7% driven by strong performance at several airport accounts and an ongoing focus on management of indirect expenses. We believe the contract will be a contributor to the profitability of the division. Also, the deal with RDU is Ampco’s first engagement in North Carolina.

Some of the other airports where Ampco provides parking services are in Tampa, Orlando, Austin, Colorado Springs, Omaha, Oklahoma City, Wichita and Long Beach.

Ampco System Parking manages about 1,600 offices, airport, hotel, hospital, retail and entertainment, and other multi-use parking operations across the U.S. It also provides other services such as parking utilization analysis, consulting on pre-construction design and layout of parking facilities.
