What do you get when a bombastic piece of news collides with a fat promotion? A possible multi-bagger? Utterly possible, especially when we talk about pink sheets.
For the last two trading days, Oct.3 and Oct. 4, Andiamo Corp (PINK:ANDI) more than doubled its value, i.e from $0.001 to $0.0021. The giant surge was accompanied by a huge volume spike as well. First, 58 million shares changed hands on Tuesday, marking a five-fold improvement over the previous trading session. Then, ANDI shifted almost 64 million shares yesterday, hitting a record high since Jul. 18.
As it seems, this is the aggregate result of the mixed impact of a press release and a paid advertising campaign. The market storm broke on Oct. 3 after ANDI announced that it intended to launch as many as 28 new mobile Apps designed for the Apple iPhone. So far, so good. Before becoming fully operative, however, every single app will be subject to Apple’s approval. In the best-case scenario, ANDI will be publishing PR after PR describing each application as soon as it has been given the green light. As far as the worst-case scenario is concerned, well, you all know how it could end up.
Although the idea mentioned above has yet to become a reality, ANDI stockholder must have got overly enthusiastic about it. As it is, a third party stockholder has invested a staggering $280 thousand to raise the hype about ANDI and pump the company’s stock as high as possible. Interestingly enough, the news about the paid promotional campaign reached investors’ emails in the middle of yesterday’s session, i.e after the immediate impact of the scheme on the market.
A quick glance at the past reveals that this is not the first time ANDI stock has become subject to such a massive promotion. Only 3 months ago, interested parties pooled $335 thousand, hoping to strike it rich in an instant. Yet, their efforts never succeeded. This time, things have taken quite a different turn. So, the only question now is whether the new investor awareness program will prove strong enough to continue pushing ANDI up in the forthcoming session, or its impact will fade away at the very beginning.
