Yesterday, Quamtel, Inc. (OTC:QUMI) saw its stock trade more intensively on the open market than usual.
The number of shares of QUMI common stock exchanged yesterday exceeded 118 thousand, whereas the daily average for the company is 18 thousand shares.
Part of these shares were exchanged in short transactions. In this regard, the official FINRA statistics shows that the short volume was comprised of more than 54 thousand shares, which is 48% of the whole volume.
The share price of QUIMI stock rose up 
from $0.4 to $0.47 during the day, scoring a 17.50% increase as compared with the previous close. During the day, QUMI reached an intraday high at $0.48.
One week ago, QUMI announced that its subsidiary, DataJack Inc, would debut its new data plans at the Consumer Electronics Show CES 2012.
The subsidiary would be exhibiting its mobile data plans and showcase new low cost, no contract, mobile broadband data plans.
