The ISM Services Index increased to 55.4% in March, higher than the expected level of 54.1, after rising to 53 in February, following an increase to 50.5 in January. The index’s complement, the ISM Manufacturing Index increased to 59.6 on last Thursday’s release after decreasing to 56.5 in February.
Pending Home Sales increased 8.2% to 97.6 against expectations of a decrease of 1.0%. The Pending Home Sales Index had decreased 7.6% in January to an index value of 90.4, following a 0.8% increase in December. The index was 17.3% higher than February 2009, when it was 83.2
