The ISM Manufacturing Index decreased to 55.5 in July, following a decrease to 56.2 in June from the 59.7 level in May. The index indicated growth for the 15th consecutive month in the overall economy, as well as expansion in the manufacturing sector for the 12th consecutive month.
 
Construction Spending increased by 0.1% to $836.0 billion during June, against the expected 0.6% decrease, after decreasing by 1% in May, revised from a 0.2% decrease. Year over year, construction spending had declined by 7.9% from the June 2009 estimate of $907.7 billion.
