AAVG-logo.jpgNot an all-time high in volume or price, but still a great week for AvStar Aviation Group Inc.(PINK:AAVG) has passed. Positive news, positive 10-Q figures, promotions – all these catalysts teamed up, resulting in an almost 200% increase in the stock price for the week. It is to see what the next few days would be. AAVG-04.07.11.png

In fact, as far as balance sheet results are concerned, the last quarterly statement came out in May. Its results, however, are brought to light again this week as they have an impact at what happened recently. So, Monday was a regular session for AvStar. A bit over 1 million shares exchanged hands, while there was no change in the stock price, the session closing at $0.0012 per share. In the next few days things changed – the volumes of traded shares skyrocketed, while each session saw an increase in the stock price, Friday session closing at $0.0031 per share. In fact, Friday session is remarkable with the 32 million shares exchanging hands as this is the second most intense trading day in the history of AvStar. It is important to mention, though, that short-selling activity that day amounted to 15 million shares.

Now, as mentioned, there is more than one catalyst for this hype to form. On Wednesday, and then on Thursday, a press release came out, announcing that AvStar has secured a line of conventional financing. A claim seen as something very positive, since this type of financing should not lead to dilution. Another important point – securing financing was made possible also because of the good financial results in the first quarter of the year. Indeed, compared to the same period last year, figures have improved. [BANNER]

To further sustain the hype, a promotion came out on Friday, which no doubt contributed to the 32 million shares changing hands. Nevertheless, there is one more issue not to go overlooked. Indeed, a line of financing is in place, but there is no figures as to the amount of financing – initial and projected. Which does not exactly inspire confidence. Let alone, this stock has been sliding up and down in sub-penny levels for quite some time now, while it used to trade way above $1 per share a few years ago. In this aspect, as with any pink sheet, it is caution that should be applied when considering it as an investment opportunity.
