Frugality is one of those areas that I do not cover nearly enough on this blog. Frugality can be important because it can free up money giving you more resources to work with. There is no worse feeling when shopping than paying full price for an item when you could have gotten it for a discounted price. In order to keep you from making this mistake, you need to use coupons. Here are a few of the best places to look for coupons.
Newspapers
Newspapers may seem old fashioned with more people using the Internet to find their news but they are still a good source for saving money. Newspapers often offer a lot of local money saving deals that you may not find anyplace else. Pick up a copy of the weekend edition of your local paper and start cutting coupons to save some cash.
Online Websites
The Internet is full of deal saving websites that offer reduced pricing on everything from a Best Buy 3D TV discount to a Gap coupon. You can find a deal on just about any purchase that you make online. Do your homework and you will find promo codes and discount codes all over the place.
In Stores
Grocery stores, retail stores, convenience stores and most department stores have circulars that you can pick up right inside the store. Lots of people walk right by those circular handouts and pay full price for an item that is on sale. Don’t be in such a rush to buy that you don’t take a few minutes to thumb through the circular.
Coupon books
You may not have been aware that there are still coupon books out there like Entertainment Book. These books are not free but the savings are often worth far more than the retail price of the book. Check these books out and if you find a lot of places that you frequent in them; it may be worth your while to buy a copy.
Mobile apps
There are literally apps for everything so it would only make sense that there would be apps for coupons. Apple and Google both have a lot of free applications that make mobile couponing a breeze. Many of these apps will alert you and let you know exactly which items are for sale in the store. Yowza! And Valpak are two of the more popular online apps.
You can use this list to save yourself some money the next time you find yourself out shopping.
