The stock value of the limited information company BioPharm Asia, Inc. (PINK:BFAR) made a triple digit jump yesterday.
Investors who watch this stock witnessed a 172.23% spike in the price of BFAR shares yesterday. BFAR closed the session at $0.15 per share after hitting an intraday high at $0.23.
The total amount of shares which were traded for the day exceeded 1.8 million, which is more than ten times higher than the daily average. At the same time, the short volume reported by FINRA was represented by 700 thousand shares, which is 39% of the total volume generated during the day.
Apparently, investor spirits were exhilarated by the press release which was published on the OTC markets yesterday. The press release announced the financial results for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2011.
According to the announcement, which admits that the financial results are not audited, the company has registered a 5.6% increase in revenues and a 6% increase in net income.
However, EDGAR showed that no official 10-Q report has been filed by the company for the reported period to the SEC so far. In fact, BFAR is not obliged to make official filings with the SEC because of its OTC Pink Limited Information status.
