BMC Software Inc. (BMC) is winning new customers at regular intervals. One of the most recent wins was that of The Bank of East Asia (China) Ltd. (BEA). The bank will be incorporating BMC Software’s Business Service Management (BSM) services to deliver a comprehensive IT management platform and to build up a data center in support of its growing banking business.
The Business Service Management (BSM) solution from BMC Software will help BEA China to reduce the risks generated by manual interface, thereby providing stability to business operations. Although an important deal for BMC, the company did not disclose the pecuniary value of the deal.
Second in row was BMC’s agreement with Italian entertainment company Dada, which provides an extensive catalog of high quality music to its customers, with the help of high end online applications. Dada supports its operations in the U.S. and Italy through 400 servers. Dada will be using BMC’s Business Service Management (BSM) platform, which optimally integrates both open source and proprietary solutions.
We expect the steady flow of business deals to positively impact the company’s revenue stream going forward.
The company reported decent second quarter 2010 results, with revenues of $462 million remaining flat compared to the year-ago period and EPS exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 16 cents. With gradual revival of the US economy and pick up in IT investment across geographies, the company should be able to deliver better results going forward.
