• According to a report, Vodafone Group PLC (NASDAQ:VOD) is selling its 44% stake in French mobile phone company SFR to Vivendi in a deal worth about $11.3 billion

• Shares of Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) gained 0.79% to close at $20.54 after the company agreed to sell its Capsugel unit to KKR & Co. (NYSE:KKR) for nearly $2.4 billion

• Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN) and National Semiconductor (NYSE:NSM) announced they have signed a definitive agreement under which the former will acquire National for $25 per share in an all-cash transaction of a deal worth approximately $6.5 billion

• Shares of Arch Capital Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:ACGL) added $1.49 in afternoon trading, to touch $102.01 after Citi analysts upgraded the company from “Hold” to “Buy” and lifted its target price from $94 to $121

• Citi upgraded Axis Capital Holding Ltd (NYSE:AXS) from “Hold” to “Buy” rating and increased its target price to $42 from $39

• Citi upgraded Everest Re Group, Ltd. (NYSE:RE) from “Hold” to “Buy” rating and increased its target price to $107 from $96

• Share prices of PartnerRe Ltd. (NYSE:PRE) increased $1.34 to close at $82.46 after Citi upgraded the insurer from “Hold” to “Buy” rating and raised the target price to $99 from $91

• Citi analysts upgraded insurers Transatlantic Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:TRH) from “Hold” to “Buy” rating keeping its target price fixed at $60

• W.R. Berkley Corp (NYSE:WRB) was upgraded by Citi analysts from “Sell” to “Hold” rating who also raised the target price from $28 to $34
