• Dynegy (NYSE:DYN) reported a quarterly loss of 5 cents per share, ex-items, missing consensus estimates by a penny. The Company also confirmed that a rival power company, LS Power Associates LP will acquire nine US power plants from its partner, giving LS Power a 15% stake in the company

• Carrizo Oil & Gas (NASDAQ:CRZO) reported Q2 earnings of 41 cents a share, ex-items, beating consensus estimates of 29 cents a share. Revenues in the quarter fell 12.9% year-over-year to $48.8 million, but came in ahead of consensus estimates of $43.8 million
