• Sears Holdings (NASDAQ:SHLD) posted a second quarter loss of 19 cents per share, one cent above Zacks estimates, on revenues of $10.5 billion, below Zacks estimates of $10.6 billion

• Staples (NASDAQ:SPLS) posted in-line second quarter earnings of 20 cents a share; however, revenues of $5.5 billion missed Zacks estimates of $5.6 billion

• Williams-Sonoma (NYSE:WSM) posted better-than-expected second quarter earnings of 31 cents, 9 cents higher than Zacks projections, on a 15.5% revenue increase to $776 million, and up from Zacks estimates of $756 million

• Yingli Green Energy (NYSE:YGE) reported a 2-cent beat with second quarter earnings of 21 cents a share, on a revenue advance of 81% to $398 million, up from Zacks estimates of $371 million

• Yesterday, after the close, Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT) reported fiscal third quarter earnings of 29 cents, up from Zacks estimates of 25 cents, on a 123% revenue increase to $2.5 billion, above estimates of $2.4 billion

• Also yesterday, Brocade Communications (NASDAQ:BRCD) reported third quarter earnings of 13 cents, versus Zacks expectations of 8 cents

• Limited Brands (NYSE:LTD) earnings of 36 cents a share were in-line with Zacks expectations on inline revenues of $2.2 billion

• Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) downgraded Ensco (NYSE:ESV) to “neutral” from “buy,” with a $46 price target

• Standpoint upgraded Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE:ANF) to “accumulate” from “hold,” with a $47 price target

• Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) maintained its “buy” rating on RadioShack (NYSE:RSH), with a price target of $24
