• Lowe’s (NYSE:LOW) posted better-than-estimated earnings and revenues for the fourth quarter, with earnings of 14 cents a share, 2 pennies higher than expected on revenues of $10.2 billion up from estimates of $10 billion. The company said it sees full-year earnings of $1.30 to $1.42 a share. The firm also announced a $5 billion share buyback
• Campbell Soup (NYSE:CPB) posted inline earnings of 74 cents a share on revenues of $2.15 billion, below estimates of $2.23 billion
• JP Morgan (NYSE:JPM) initiated Dendreon (NASDAQ:DNDN) with “overweight” rating and a $48 price target
• Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB) said it agreed to acquire Smith International for $11.3 billion
• DreamWorks Animation’s (NYSE:DWA) place on Goldman Sachs’ (NYSE:GS) Conviction Buy List was reaffirmed, with a price target increase to $50 from $45. The firm’s earnings estimate was increased to $2.80 for 2010 from $2.55
