The Web performance division of Compuware Corporation (CPWR), Gomez, signed a partnership agreement with OpSource, a leader in cloud operations.

Under the agreement, OpSource will resell Gomez’s Web performance management solution to its enterprise customers and use it to validate and monitor its own cloud performance of its own managed hosting and cloud operations services.

Gomez expects that through this partnership with OpSource, it will be able to bring powerful performance monitoring to cloud computing. This in turn will make it easier to justify bringing their applications to the cloud.

OpSource provides complete Cloud operations, infrastructure and services for companies of all sizes, from Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) ISVs to the enterprise, with hundreds of applications, millions of users and billions of transactions supported daily.

In October, Compuware acquired the privately-held Gomez Inc. for $295 million in cash. Gomez is a leader in web application experience management and its clients include Google (GOOG) and Facebook. Gomez employs 272 people around the world.

Gomez delivers its offering through a SaaS model and the addition of this to Compuware’s SaaS revenues will further strengthen the latter’s model. SaaS continues to gain traction due to lower cost of ownership and faster, easier adoption and maintenance.

However, the economic climate remains tough and IT spending is not expected to gain impetus before mid-2010. Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, Compuware provides software products and professional services to many of the large users of information systems in the world.
