E-commerce solutions provider Digital River, Inc. (DRIV) recently signed an e-commerce agreement with Panasonic, a leader in connected TV entertainment. Under the terms of the agreement, DigitalRiver will be managing e-commerce transactions for Panasonic’s VIERA Connect™ Market.

Management at DigitalRiver is excited to take online shopping and e-commerce to the forefront in Web-based entertainment. Management stated that this deployment represents the convergence of software and other digital content, games and consumer technology products – all areas of core competency for DigitalRiver.

Earlier, DigitalRiver announced that PayPal, an eBay (EBAY) company, is leveraging its Digital River® World Payments™ solution to support local online payment processing in Brazil and Mexico.

PayPal expects that the geographic expansion will add to the companies’ existing relationship, which now includes payment services across multiple continents. DigitalRiver has been serving PayPal from the last nine years.

The Digital River World Payments solution features a wide array services for managing the complete payment lifecycle along with offering relevant payment options in more than 190 countries and over 170 transaction and display currencies.

These services work through a single payments connection and include checkout page optimization, real-time fraud detection, solutions to manage PCI exposure and currency risk in addition to, advanced back-office reconciliation services and business intelligence tools.
