As mentioned a few days ago, I will be embarking on a long-haul flight from Cape Town to the Big Apple in little more than a week’s time. Prepared for the cold weather and a depressed economic climate, I will be spending a few days from December 3 to 7, 2008 in New York City.

Subsequent to my initial invitation to blog readers to meet to discuss global financial markets and money-making ideas, I have received significantly more replies than I can accommodate for one-on-one meetings. As I am keen to meet as many of you as possible, I have decided to schedule an informal group function in midtown Manhattan on Friday afternoon, December 5.

If you are interested in joining me for a drink or two, and “putting a face to the name”, please get in touch through the “comments” or “contact” sections of the site so that that I can send the details to you.

As an aside, the beverage that will be served is “Bailout Bitter”, a recently-launched special brand of recession-style beer – a “bitter ale for bitter times”!
