EUR/CHF Fundamental Analysis March 16, 2012, Forecast

Analysis and Recommendations:

EUR/CHF is trading down at 1.2070 after starting the day at 1.2129. The euro climbed today against many of its trading partners, as it moved up as investors moved from the USD to riskier assets, on more positive data released in the US. The benefit of this move seems to be with the Franc in this pair, as the Swissie continued to overpower the euro.

Today the SNB released their interest decision and comments. Switzerland’s central bank on Thursday said it would continue to cap the strength of the Swiss franc, pledging to enforce a minimum 1.20 Swiss franc exchange rate versus the euro “with the utmost determination.” And maintained current rates.

In Europe today, a release showed that real wages fell again in the 17 countries that use the euro in the fourth quarter of last year, while employment also declined; confirming consumption and confidence are likely to remain weak as the region teeters on the brink of a return to recession
