Forexpros – European stocks were up after the closing bell on Wednesday.
At the close of European trade, Germany’s DAX rose 0.60%, London’s FTSE 100 gained 0.74%, France’s CAC 40 climbed 0.52% and the EURO STOXX 50 was up 1.01%.
Earlier in the day, official data showed that core consumer price inflation in the U.S. rose less-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted 0.1% last month from 0.2% in the preceding month.
Analysts had expected U.S. core CPI to rise 0.2% last month.
Meanwhile, on Wall Street, equity markets were mixed after the open. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.47%; the S&P 500 index gained 0.10%, while the Nasdaq 100 index declined 0.56%.
