Forexpros – European stocks were down after the closing bell on Friday.
At the close of European trade, Germany’s DAX fell 0.84%, London’s FTSE 100 shed 0.02%, France’s CAC 40 declined 1.01% and the EURO STOXX 50 was down 1.18%.
Earlier in the day, preliminary official data showed that Gross domestic product in the U.S. rose less-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.0% in the last quarter from 1.3% in the preceding quarter.
Analysts had expected U.S. gross domestic product to rise 1.1% in the last quarter.
Meanwhile, on Wall Street, equity markets were up after the open. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.13%; the S&P 500 index gained 1.28%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 2.19%.
