Excuses, Excuses
Another downgrade of Greek debt, hit the markets yesterday as a positive day reversed itself according to those who like to attribute the actions of millions of traders worldwide to simple article header. One line excuses to explain all of these decisions.
The SPY yesterday on a 10 minute chart: again, a light volume day.
Asia was very flat…pancake, Great Plains flat…Europe has moved slightly green, US futures are positive, gold up slightly. An event that may have some impact is the disappointment in Best Buy’s numbers this morning and decline of about $3 in the stock to a $38 handle.
I am not seeing anything the last few days that tells me much one or another or even a sense that something dramatic is going to happen.
The only sure trend I see is the ongoing and deepening of intrusion into private lives and private business on all levels and on an international basis. More shocking, many feel this is the proper course of events and that only Greenspan, Bernanke, Obama, Merkel, Putin, Hu, name any Japanese man over the again of 40 because there is a good chance he will be PM within the next 9 months, Frank, Pelosi, BFD Biden, humbly toiling in God’s vineyard your obedient servant Blankfein, Netanyahu, all the right people with the largesse and wisdom to make decisions on their behalf. Of course, there are hundreds of names that can be added by those whose excuse in life will be that the government, they, someone else caused it and serves as their excuse(s) for their outcomes.
Owning physical gold in your own possession is an insurance policy in case the masses are mistaken. Silver dollars, coins and eagles also accomplish much the same thing.
