Feb 22: Consumer Confidence Rises – Economic Highlights

The Consumer Confidence Index increased to 70.4 (1985=100) in February after increasing to 60.6 in January from 53.3 in December. The index was expected to increase with the consensus at 64.7. The Present Situation Index increased to 33.4 from 31.1. The Expectations Index increased to 95.1 from 87.3 in January. Consumer opinion about current market conditions improved moderately and the short term outlook was more optimistic than in January.
