Fox Broadcasting Company, one of the leading divisions of the television segment of News Corp. (NWSA), is all set to launch its second all-soccer channel in the U.S. from March 1, 2010. The new network is named Fox Soccer Plus and will televise matches of the European Champions League, English Premier League, the English Football Association Cup and the Italian Serie A. 

The other soccer channel was introduced way back in 1997 and was initially known as Fox Soccer Channel. Later, the channel was renamed as FSC. With the rising popularity of soccer in the U.S., Fox Soccer Plus is expected to complement the existing channel and generate more income from increased viewer ship and advertising revenues

Fox is currently negotiating with cable providers to determine the pay package for retransmission rights. The new network is expected to draw the content from Setanta USA that owns and operates premium sports TV channels. Fox Soccer Plus will be broadcasted in high definition.
